Why should we read the Holy Quran daily? What does the Holy Quran teach us?
Straight away for Barakat/barakah. Secondly, you gain a deeper insight every time you read an aayat with understanding. Every few years situations keep changing but the Quran is always ready to answer based on your situation and circumstances. Thirdly by reading we follow the sunnah of Rasulallah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam who said read and the Quran itself says Quran al fajr, so before or after fajr do take time to read, and his practice was after Isha not to meet or talk to anyone but recite Quran then sleep. Reading he said is better than reciting without looking, so even if you recite its better to have Quran open in front of you.

Because it’s the duty of every Muslim to understand the Quran, it will be a proof of our faith in Allah on the Day of Judgment, our status in this life before Allah will be higher than if we don’t read the Quran, and our position in Paradise is even higher for each letter of the Quran that we read!
Here is what the Quranic verses teach us about behaving:
1. Respect People Of All Faiths And Beliefs
In the world of extremism, we have forgotten how to accept differences in terms of religious beliefs and we have stopped respecting the minorities
2. We Must Not Be Proud
Whatever we have in this world is all due to Allah’s reward of our efforts.
“And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace” – The Holy Quran 25:63 Surah AL-FURQAN
3. Do Not Eat And Drink In Excessive Amount
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to share his food with others to make sure that everyone eats and does not sleep on an empty stomach. He taught us that eating in excess is not wise.
“O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess.” – The Holy Quran 7:31 Surah AL-A’RAF
4. Keep Fighting And Striving For What You Wish To Achieve
Our Prophet’s life is a complete example of how, under whatever the circumstances were, kept fighting. He did not care for the weather, his health or any other matter. He kept striving for the goals he had.
“And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives” – The Holy Quran 53:39 Surah AN-NAJM
5. Stay Away
From Corruption
A number of Muslim countries suffer by the hands of corruption. It is something which is strictly forbidden in Islam, even when it revolves around the activities carried out by individuals.
“Eat and drink from the provision of Allah , and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.”– The Holy Quran 2:60 Surah AL-BAQARAH
6. Honoring Guests
As mentioned earlier, Haqooq Al-Ibaad plays a huge role in how we behave. Receiving guests and treating them well has been given a lot of stress in Quran – same as valuing our neighbors.
“Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a roasted fattened calf, and placed it before them. He said: ‘Will you not eat?’”- The Holy Quran 51:26 Surah ADH-DHARIYAT
