Carbon composition is the main distinct between cast iron and steel. Cast iron typically contains more than 2 percent carbon, while cast iron often contains between 0.1-0.5 percent carbon. Iron has better corrosion resistance than steel. Cast iron is often cheaper than steel because of the lower material cost, energy, and labour required to obtain a final product. Rods are also different for cast steel and cast iron welding rods. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerCancel replyYou must login or register to add a new answer.
