It is welded to the base material and generally takes the form of specialized electrodes for arc welding. Hardfacing is applied to a new part during production to increase its wear resistance. The advantages of hardfacing electrodes are it extends the life of a new component, hardfacing lessens the need for replacement parts, increases the efficiency of the operation by reducing both downtime and overall cost, and also allows for use of less expensive base metal. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerCancel replyYou must login or register to add a new answer.
