It can be used for joining long stretches of metal without stopping. The welder holds the wire feeder and a wire electrode is fed into a weld at a controlled rate of speed, while a blanket of inert argon gas shield the weld zone from atmospheric contamination. Advantages of MIG welding are as below: Since flux is not used here there is no chance of entrapment of slag in weld metal resulting in high-quality welds A minor weld spatter is produced MIG process can be operated several times MIG welding is versatile and can be used with a wide variety of alloys and metals High-quality welds can be produced much faster 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerCancel replyYou must login or register to add a new answer.
