Facebook ads are definitely worth it and have seen a surge in businesses using Facebook ads during this pandemic. First of all, having a social media account i.e. Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, etc. have now become a trend for all generation of people. And a huge number of those people are actively using Facebook with nearly 1.5 billion users. The way Facebook earns its revenue is by allowing businesses to use their platform to reach prospective customers. Since its initiation, till now Facebook has relentlessly worked on improving its ad algorithms and has made it increasing efficient for business to find and attract more customers, successfully. As Facebook has billions of users, it collects data on every user i.e. user status, active usage time, interests, typed videos watched etc. These are a couple of data points but there are many more. As the internet and technology improve it has also become a necessity for many of us now to have a smartphone. So, companies use Facebook or other social media platforms to reach more customers easily, which they could not possibly do by organic advertisements. In addition, besides Facebook ads (which has to be paid for); small and medium businesses are seen to be opening pages/groups where prospective customers can join and get to know and buy products. Most of these pages/groups sell their products through postal delivery but some might also have physical stores. Especially, as this Pandemic prevails, yet, there’s been a surge in Facebook ads (as lock-downs were set and businesses couldn’t perform ad campaigns organically). Facebook’s collection of user data, specifically-data points are very sophisticated and very much direct. For example, as I go through my newsfeed on Facebook and stumble upon a video and watch it, automatically more videos of that category start showing up below. So as I scroll down I subconsciously get driven into watching them. In addition, as I like or comment on a post from a brand or post a status on any issue Facebook immediately adds them. So they basically have holistic information on my behaviour and my taste/likings. Now, the ads shown to me are often linked to the videos and posts I’ve liked/commented on, something that yet fascinates me. In fact, recently Facebook has also admitted to eavesdropping on users through users’ phone microphones (Which is immoral and illegal by the way). In concise, Facebook ads are worth it for businesses as it allows dynamic customization resulting in a positive outcome for businesses. 0 Reply Share Share Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share on WhatsApp Leave an answerCancel replyYou must login or register to add a new answer.
